At In Residence we believe that our sustainability efforts yield a more beautiful product. We start by only using natural fibers that are ethically sourced. Our rug production process is low waste, meaning material is ordered in the exact amount needed. We reject mass-production practices, and instead are committed to the preservation of the artistry of hand made rugs, as this process carries a smaller footprint. Climate justice is social justice, thus we partner closely with a generational, family-run business that cares for our small group of weavers. It is critical that our partners are paid fairly and there is absolutely no child labor ever. It is our mission to always be looking forward and to educate ourselves on how to scale without disrupting the sustainability of our product.
